Rolawn attains conditional silver status in Green Achiever scheme

York based Rolawn, Europe’s largest producer of cultivated turf and Britain’s leading supplier of high quality topsoil, has attained Green Achiever Scheme Conditional Silver Award.

The award demonstrates the positive action taken in the way the company cares for the environment. The highest level, gold, is attained following an extensive environmental audit.

Paul Dawson, Rolawn’s Managing Director commented: “We are delighted to achieve the award as it endorses the positive steps the company has taken over the last few years to develop its green credentials; from our sustainable and recycled topsoil products to our highly efficient turf operation. Green Achiever also gives us a framework for continual improvement as we work towards gold status.”

Deborah Cairns, operations manager at E4environment and with specific responsibility for the Green Achiever scheme, said: “Everyone’s talking about the Government’s environmental policies and how our behaviour and neglect is leading to changes in the climate. The staff and management at Rolawn Ltd are demonstrating a conviction to enhancing their green status that not only sets a standard for others to follow but will save the organisation money too. Congratulations to them on gaining this award.”
