The role

We are recruiting for a permanent Courier Operative to join the team at our Seaton Ross site, located near York. This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week plus overtime. A flexible approach to hours will be required, particularly at peak times. The role is responsible for picking, labelling, preparing and loading of internet and retail orders. They will plan loads in an efficient and cost-effective manner whilst ensuring that vehicles are safely loaded. This is a hands-on role and the role involves manual handling in a warehouse environment to prepare and process orders.

You will be working in our warehouse and yard, driving a forklift to load and unload products and work with bespoke plant and machinery in a safe manner and in accordance with all health and safety regulations. The role will also involve manual warehouse duties and handling heavy products.

About you

It is essential that you hold a valid counterbalance forklift licence and ideally have recent experience of working in a busy warehouse environment and be compete in IT skills including Word and Excel. Telehandler experience would also be advantageous. You must be able to work on your own initiative and under pressure, be comfortable working alone as well as part of the team and be willing to undertake additional tasks when required. 

You need to be flexible, assisting with other duties on the site as required.  Overtime is available and you would need to be able to sustain long hours during peak times.

You must have permission to work in the UK and hold a current UK driving licence.
