Continual investment is essential to stay at the forefront of any industry and Rolawn, the UK’s leading high-quality turf grower, understand this better than most.
The company has just taken delivery of two new JCB 940 rough terrain forklifts. These are currently in the Rolawn workshop where their skilled in-house mechanics are fitting adapted double turf pallet carriers; essential for the efficient handling of turf. In addition, two new Massey Ferguson 5713 tractors have come from leading agricultural machinery dealer Peacock & Binnington. These tractors were bought to augment the company fleet and to tie in with another company technical development, will be fitted with the latest farming software and hardware that aids accuracy and efficiency in crop cultivation.
Rolawn Managing Director, Paul Dawson commented ‘As the growers of Britain’s finest turf we are continually working on how to deliver turf to our customers that is technically advanced, that will root aggressively and will be a lawn for a lifetime. That requires foresight to predict how the market is changing, planning to adapt to changes in legislation, and flexibility to cope with the vagaries of ever more extreme weather. Rolawn achieves that goal through an ongoing programme of investment in the right equipment and systems, and that’s why I am delighted with these most recent acquisitions.’
