Rolawn donates 85 metres of turf to a children’s hospice garden in Carlisle

The UK’s leading turf grower and supplier of market-leading topsoil and landscaping products, Rolawn, has donated 85 metres of Medallion® Turf to the charity Greenfingers, to help create a garden for a children’s hospice in Carlisle.

Greenfingers Charity, which is dedicated to supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families who spend time in hospices around the UK, commissioned the garden at Jigsaw Children’s Hospice in Carlisle.

North-East-based company, Ian Howe Landscaping, and Westwood Landscape, based in Dalston, Cumbria combined to build the project. Bruce Walker, Chartered Landscape Architect at Westwood Landscape, said: “We would like to express our sincere thanks to Rolawn for the kind donation of the turf for this project.

The garden will make life much more fun for children with extreme health and disability issues whilst they are at the children’s hospice. Westwood Landscape value highly the strong working relationship with Rolawn which has been built over many years and it is most satisfying for this partnership to deliver a project of this nature to help the local community.”

Rolawn Sales Director, Jonathan Hill, commented: “We are delighted to continue supporting our designated charity, Greenfingers, by providing our Medallion Turf as part of the redesign of an outdoor space at Jigsaw Children’s Hospice.”

Rolawn has supported Greenfingers Charity for over 20 years, donating turf and topsoil for some of the older gardens created by Greenfingers including Shooting Star, Hampton; Helen and Douglas House Hospice, Oxford and Julia’s House Children’s Hospice.
